From Marlene McLoughlin’s Road to Rome, in which the artist uses a gorgeous palette of watercolors to depict her journey from Florence to Rome, to Alain De Botton’s The Art of Travel, with its thoughtful meditations on why we travel to how we might improve our journeys along the way, these are books that always make me want to pick up my pen or paintbrush and revisit memories of places I’ve traveled to in the past.
