Venice is like a canvas for an endless interplay of reflected light and color. The presence of the lagoon and canals (not to mention a vulnerability to acqua alta) exponentially increases the possibility of reflections, but they often take you by surprise even when there’s no water in sight. This photo was taken along the north side of San Marco and, in this case, it’s the shop window and glass objets d’art that serve as the medium for the reflections. I love the layering of what’s found on either side of the glass, and how the clear chandelier appears perfectly poised between the Cathedral’s arches.

The photo is printed on professional glossy paper that enhances the reflective qualities of the subject. The image itself measures 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm), and is surrounded by a narrow white border. The print is titled & signed on the back, and packaged in a clear archival sleeve.
